In accordance with the CPA, we the retailer are not under any legal obligation to accept returns of non-defective products, except under the following circumstances:
Goods which the consumer did not have an opportunity to examine before delivery, i.e. an online order, and the consumer then rejects the delivery based on one of the following criteria:
- The type and quality of the goods are not as reasonably contemplated in the agreement;
- The goods differ in material respect or characteristic from the sample or product description;
- The goods do not reasonably conform to the material specifications of a special order;
- Goods found to be unsuitable for a specific purpose communicated effectively to the supplier when entering into the transaction.
- If your claim meets one of the criteria above, then the goods are returned at the risk and expense of us as the supplier.
- Goods must be returned within 14 days of delivery.
A consumer loses his right of return, other than for defective or unsafe product/s, if the goods concerned have been disassembled, altered, permanently installed, affixed or combined with other goods.
Consumers should choose carefully and not frivolously enter into transactions in the false hope and expectation that they may return the item/s for a refund.
In the event the consumer is entitled to a refund, it is entirely acceptable for Cafe420.co.za to request proof of purchase from the consumer.
When can a Customer Ask for a Return or Exchange?
Our return policy gives you 14 days to return or exchange an order or order item. After 14 days we might not be able to offer you a refund or exchange, however, we are willing to extend this period given proof of unusual circumstances. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned such as perishable goods (i.e. plant nutrition, amendments, chemicals, etc.). We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials or flammable liquids/gases.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer without contacting us prior to sending the order back. There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your order. Should you require a refund, we will request banking details and an EFT will be made to your account within 30 days.
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again or contact your bank directly for further confirmation. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Only regular priced items may be refunded, this means on sale items cannot be refunded.
One Free Exchange or Return Per Order
Please note, we only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at email@example.com and we will confirm availability and a designated drop off point. If a purchase meets the exchange criteria the customer is entitled to one free exchange or return, thereafter the customer will be responsible for paying further shipping costs.
Shipping Costs are Non-Refundable
All shipping costs are non-refundable. If you request a refund and it is approved, we will cover the shipping for the return for the product, however, if you previously paid for the initial shipping you will not receive a refund for the cost of the shipping only the item purchased.
How Long Do Returns or Exchanges Take?
Returns and exchanges will depend on your location and product availability. We will attempt to process returns within 30 days. The time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may take longer than specified in our policies. We will keep you informed of the processing stages as they happen and tracking codes will be provided when needed.
